Easy Chocolate Cake

Super simple recipe yielding a delicious, oil-free chocolate cake!

Serving Size:    8           Prep Time:   15 minutes         Cook Time:   45 minutes 




  • 1.5 c. Almond Flour
  • 1 c. Coconut Sugar
  • 4 TB Raw Cacao Powder
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/3 c. Unsweetened Applesauce
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 c. Water


  1. Preheat Oven 350 Degrees on greased 9x5" loaf pan
  2. In large mixing bowl, combine all dry ingredients, sifting if needed
  3. In small mixing bowl, combine wet ingredients and add to large bowl (with dry mix)
  4. Blend all ingredients until smooth
  5. Carefully pour into the loaf pan and let rest until equally leveled in the pan.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean from center and/or sides lift away from the pan. Remove and cool.
  7. Enjoy warm

Suggested Add-ins (pick one):

- 1/4 c. Vegan Chocolate Chips (we like Enjoy Life)

- 1/4 c. Cacao Nibs (we like Navita Raw Cacao Nibs)

Serving Suggestions:

- Ok to sub Gluten Free Flour or All Purpose Flour (will not be gluten free) for the Almond Flour 1:1 Ratio

- Ok to substitute Applesauce for Coconut Oil 1:1 Ratio

- Ok to substitute white vinegar for lemon juice 1:1 Ratio


- Serve with favorite non-dairy ice cream and/or fresh fruit
